Dont you just HATE straight red cards?!?

I think its an injustice to the entire game that a referee can pull out a straight red card for a contentious decision especially in the first 20 or so minutes of a game.
Not only this the player then misses the next match.

When you look at the two Australia got they are both contentious and there is no consistency in refereeing.

Australia vs Ghana: Kewell gets sent off. By the precise law its probably a fair enough decision but its still not fair because its unintentional! AND the penalty is severe.. Australia down to 10 men, a spot kick and he misses the next game.

Serbia vs Germany: You get a serbian PUNCHING the ball out of the box intentionally and its only a yellow.

As for Cahill's that was a soft pissy week red card and the referee who gave it should be ashamed. Then you get a Ghanyan player bloody spear tackling Bresciano and its only a yellow.

Not blaming the refs for the draw but it must be said Australia looked good before the send off.
Its just not fair the refs can be so influencial


And overall they have been an embarassment to the game this world cup.

They should move to video replays of major decisions such as whether the ball crosses the goal line or whether something is a red card. They used a video replay in the last World Cup to make the correct decision and give Zidane a red card so they really should start using it for more decisions.

Kewell's was a red card because the shot was CLEARLY going in, he cleared it off the line with his arm.



Vidic only got a yellow because it was no where near goal, it was a cross with nobody on the end of it, god knows why he did it though.



Cahill's red card was retarded, never in a million years was it a red but referees make mistakes.
