Not only this the player then misses the next match.
When you look at the two Australia got they are both contentious and there is no consistency in refereeing.
Australia vs Ghana: Kewell gets sent off. By the precise law its probably a fair enough decision but its still not fair because its unintentional! AND the penalty is severe.. Australia down to 10 men, a spot kick and he misses the next game.
Serbia vs Germany: You get a serbian PUNCHING the ball out of the box intentionally and its only a yellow.
As for Cahill's that was a soft pissy week red card and the referee who gave it should be ashamed. Then you get a Ghanyan player bloody spear tackling Bresciano and its only a yellow.
Not blaming the refs for the draw but it must be said Australia looked good before the send off.
Its just not fair the refs can be so influencial
And overall they have been an embarassment to the game this world cup.
