Blanco is one of Mexico's most talented players and he is also very experienced, having played in the last 2 world cups. He was won 81 caps and scored 29 goals for Mexico. It is indeed a great surprise he did not make the team.
Some people point to the fact that he will be nearly 33 when the World Cup begins and advancing age will almost certainly catch up with a player whose greatest assets are speed, skill and guile. However, his recent club form has been good and helped to put some of those rumours to rest.
Many people thus believe that Blanco was left out due to the rocky relationship current Mexico manager Ricardo La Volpe and that this was the culmination of a year long squabble. It is a significant blow to Mexico not to have a player of Blanco's quality, though there are plenty of talented players in the Mexican team.

No, he is too big of a distraction from the rest of the team. The team has seemed to be doing just fine with out him. But if the Mexicans don't do well, it will all be blamed on them not picking Blanco, and having naturalized players on the team. If this happens well then there will be a new coach and some new demands

NO, not at all. Blanco is an overrated player who falls down way too much. He would rather try to get a penalty than score if he were on a one on one against the goalie.
